Mourning Geckos

Since September of 2021 I’ve been keeping an ever growing colony of mourning geckos. I love these little ladies and wish I could give each an individual name. Because my colony is always in flux (I honestly don’t even know how many mourning geckos I have), and it’s next to impossible to tell individuals apart, I refer to my girls collectively as…

The Amazons:

Colony Start Date: September 15th, 2021

I currently keep a very active colony of mourning geckos that consists of Hawaiians, high expression Hawaiians, and yellow bellies. I’ve heard that some keepers have issues keeping different strains of mourning geckos together, but my mixed colony has always done really well. I started out with three geckos (one of each type) in 2021 and now have…more than I can count. When my colony outgrew their original enclosure, I started up a second. After they outgrew their second, they got a huge upgrade and now happily reside in Sleepy Fox Forest, a 24x24x36 bioactive display tank.

Even with their huge upgrade, mourning geckos keep morning gecko-ing and, to attempt to keep the population in check, I occasionally rehome members of my colony. You can check out my Morph Market page to see if I currently have any available.
