Keeping inverts as pets means being ok with becoming the go-to person to catch all the house spiders!
Growing up, when my parents didn’t like the idea of keeping pets, I took matters into my own hands and kept bugs I caught as pets. My favorite little captives were my garden snails! I learned everything I could about my snails, and had a lot of fun designing them enclosures.
I have a lot of nostalgia about my pet snails, so when the opportunity presented itself to keep them again as an adult…well, let’s just say I have pet snails again! Besides my garden snails I also keep a handful of tarantulas, scorpions, aquatic snails, neocaridina shrimp, isopods (I almost forgot about the isopods!), and a whole horde of feeder insects. Although their fate is eventually to be fed off to my other critters, I enjoy taking care of the feeder insects too. I try to give them the best lives little bugs could ask for before they become someone’s dinner.
You know the drill…if you want to learn more about any of my individual inverts click on the drop down menu under the “Invertebrates” section at the top of the page!
