Like many exotics keepers, I’ve loved reptiles as long as I can remember. I was drawing ‘dragons’ long before I had the motor skills to draw anything recognizable. When I got a bit older, I spent many warm summer days catching garter snakes, painted turtles, and whatever other critters I could find.
The beautiful leopard gecko pictured above is Aurora. She is currently my oldest reptile and later in 2024 will be celebrating her 16th birthday! Besides my two leopard geckos, who are the reptiles I’ve had the longest, I also currently care for two cherry head redfoot tortoises, and a trio of ball pythons. I’d love to add more reptiles into my animal family someday, but that will probably have to wait until after I move to a bigger place.
